Hemper: A Hand Pipe Shaped Like a Candle
The Candle Hand Pipe from Hemper looks like a stubby white candle, complete with a dripping wax detail running down the side. It is a hand pipe in borosilicate glass, built to handle regular use rather than just sit on a shelf. At 14 cm long, it slips into a pocket or bag easily, so it travels as well as it displays.
Borosilicate glass holds up to daily heat cycling better than standard glass, and it keeps the flavour of your dry blend clean, draw after draw. The trade-off is the same one you get with any glass piece: drop it on tile and it won't forgive you the way a silicone pipe would. Handle it the way you would a good bong bowl, with a bit of care, and it lasts.
Compared to a plain spoon pipe, the candle shape gives you something to talk about when it comes out at a session. It sits happily next to a stash box or on a windowsill between uses, doubling as a conversation piece as much as a working pipe. Anyone who likes their gear to look as good as it functions will get the appeal here.
