Microppose - Adherable Injection Ports: For Contaminant-Free Inoculation, Every Time
Sterility is key to growing healthy, quality mushrooms at home. And these adherable self-healing injection ports help to minimize the risk of contamination when it comes time to inoculate your growing medium.
When you inject a spore syringe or liquid culture into your mushroom growing medium, the aperture you create in your growing container (be it a jar, tub, or bag) exposes your entire grow to potential contaminants. Contaminated growing conditions can affect the growth of your mycelium as well as your yields. In fact, contamination can stop mushroom liquid cultures from properly colonizing a medium, leaving you with no yields at all.
These injection ports, however, have been specially designed to cover openings in mushroom growing containers, including bags, jars, and tubs. Once you've prepared your growing medium and area, use a sterile syringe to pierce through one of these ports and inject your spores/liquid culture directly into your medium. As you remove the syringe, these ports instantaneously "self-heal", minimizing any potential for contamination.
